Arbus Advisors, Let’s Leave the Bitch at Home Today

Oh how I love Canada and the freedom of speech and expression. Back to the point of this blog.

Now, I am not in the Arts faculty, but I have seen this happen many times to my friends that are actually in the Arts Faculty. At first, I thought it was just an independent incident, until I went on the site RateMyProf. I must say after visiting the site, the Arts faculty’s policies are f##king confusing. After 3 years here, I still don’t know the difference between Arts and Arts and Business…Anyways, this blog post is directed at a certain Arts and Business academic advisor at the University of Waterloo. To make thing simpler and easier to understand for you, I made a meme to address this “advisor”:

I thought the whole point of an academic advisor was to provide guidance or “help” to students at Waterloo in the Arts faculty, as stated here. Unless of course the term of “help” and “guidance” is being a bitch to the students then this advisor is doing anĀ outstandingĀ job. What I will not understand is the need for some people to be so obnoxious and just plain rude to people they are supposed to help. I also will never understand how some people can obtain jobs in social settings such as an advisor when you do not know the first thing about advising students that walk through your door or send e-mails seeking help. Because in all honesty it is your job to do all of these things, but I can understand that a job like this may be too hard for some people. I mean how else would you land a job like an advisor anyways? So I will just leave this here for you:

Get your *head* out of /your ass/ and stop being a selfish bitch and actually help the students. After all, you have a job because of them. Yes, they will ask questions you may find stupid, and yes they sometimes will be annoying in your opinion, but it is your job. So do it! and if the job is too much for your incompetent head to wrap around, do the job properly, and leave that bitch behaviour somewhere else!
