The Motorola XOOM is here!

Posted February 24th, 2011 in Tablet, Technology by Bill

The ever so anticipated Motorola XOOM has finally been released in the States.

However, the cost is simply disappointing, I have no idea how the tablet will ever compete with the new iPad 2 at the cost of $599(2 year contract)/$799 a pop.

Simplefolio and WordPress 3.1 (3.2.1) fix

Posted February 24th, 2011 in Technology by Bill

So recently I upgraded my WordPress installation to WP3.1, however, that broke the slider on my Simplefolio template.

Update July 29, 2011:
I recently upgraded to WordPress 3.2.1, and everything seems to be working properly as expected. Will update if anything breaks.
End of Update

I tried everything from upgrading to the latest bleeding edge, to 3.2 beta, nothing worked, I didn’t want to downgrade to 3.0 simply because I didn’t want the hussle if anything bad were to happen.

PD6: (03f) Weekly Exercise: Discussion Board Posting

Posted February 21st, 2011 in PD6 Troll by Bill

Warning: PD and CECS knows the existence of this blog. Thus if you copy from me, we will get into trouble, now, I personally don’t care about my outcome, but if you are smart, come up with your own (witty) answer to show them the stupidity of PD courses.

Question:
Post a response to one of the discussion boards below. Since you have just started your workterm, you may need to do some research or ask a colleague for help to answer these questions. Remember to include enough detail to help others learn from the problem solving process but do not post confidential information.

You have randomly been assigned to a team of students for this exercise. You should read the responses posted by your classmates. You are encouraged, but not required, to respond to any postings you find interesting or meaningful.

Your posting is worth 10% of your final mark. Thoughtful responses which address the questions being asked will receive full marks.

Stupid spam is stupid

Posted February 21st, 2011 in Technology by Bill

I hate spam, I’m sure everyone does, but I hate it when idiots spams my blog.

To combat this, I’ve added a idiotic CAPTCHA field in the comments section: “Are you ham or spam”

Well to a legitimate commenter they simply need to put in ham, given that if it is not spam. But a bot wouldn’t know any better.

Yes, give any spammer 5 minutes and they will figure out how to by pass it, but when that happens, I shall implement reCaptcha.

Stupid spam is stupid.

VDay & Food Bank

Posted February 14th, 2011 in General by Bill

Today, my “girlfriend” is mad at me and doesn’t want to see me.

So I donated all the money that I was going to spend on her to the local food bank, at least someone won’t be going to bed with an empty stomach. :)

And… I’m never coming back

I think I just developed remembered another pet peeves.

I hate it when you work for a job, you are given dead lines, when the dead line comes, you produce the product, YET… you still have to fill in a DAILY time sheet. Um what the fuck. I just put in 9:20 to 5:20 as “developing”. Done and done. You wasted my time for something so useless and stupid. But first employer gets the Darwin Award. Instead of filling in the time sheets, I was expected to fill time sheets down to a T.
