Traveling in another country

Here is something that really bugs me, when people travel to another country, and they would always think, “Hey, I’m Canadian/American/British/(insert other citizenship here), thus the local law does not apply to me.” Well you are deadly wrong. The Law that was descended from the British system is moderately relaxed. But there are countries out there such as Cuba or China which has severe laws, and thus if you break the law, prepare to face the consequences. Recently Code LeCompte was stranded in Cuba because he was in an auto accident, and under the Cuba law, he was required to stay in Cuba. Another example was the British citizen caught smuggling drugs into China, and he was convicted and executed under the Chinese law. There was an outcry about it. Yes, it was inhumane, yes it was sad. But under the Chinese law that will happen. If you can’t face the consequences of foreign laws, don’t travel.
